BLUE HOLE AUGUST 2006

On Saturday 26 August 2006 we traveled to Blue Hole quarry near Williamsburg, PA.

The weather was beautiful.   Paul, Ray, Amy, Dan, Marie, Bruce, Mike, Julie, Eric, Rachel, Leah, and Jon. Missing from the photo is Glenn, Tina, Tim, Howard, Alex, and Rita. All of the 19 divers suited up and hopped in the quarry to get cooled off.  everyone is "ok"  It appears that everyone is "ok."  Rachel

Let's go diving!!!

Rita went with Alex.  Dan and AmyRay and Paul took AmyAmy and Dan Dan. Joining me was JulieJulie,  Marie Marie, Marie's dad Bruce Bruce and Marie, Mike and Eric Eric.  On the second dive Julie's dad Jon and Alex joined in.  Glen, Tina, Rachel, Leah, Howard, and Tim also dove for fun.

Fish are friends!!   Many fishes joined us during our dives.    not food!!

A few of the the divers even saw freshwater jellyfish. In addition to the delightful aquatic life, we found many other "things" during our dives.  For instance, we saw the toilet with the foot Foot in Toilet, the copier, the bathtub with the pink elephant Pink Elephant getting a bath, tea set, the school bus Fish in Bus, and the computer Computer along with many other interesting items .

The largest fish that I saw escaped before I had a chance to photograph him. At first, because it was so large, I thought it might be a blue whale.  However, the more I think about it, my blue whale may have actually been a smallmouth buffalo (a bluish fish similar to a carp).  Blue Whale - smallmouth buffalo, it is so hard to tell the difference.  Either way it was exciting.  Only 5 of the divers had the privilege of seeing my blue whale.

Congratulations to our new certified Open Water Divers: Amy, Dan, Marie, and Julie.

Four divers finished their Open water Class on Saturday.  They were Amy, Dan, Marie, and Julie.

Saturday evening Paul and I did a night dive.  While the majority of the fish that we saw during the day were sleeping, the sharks, the catfish, and the other creatures of the night were all out swimming around.

Shark

Anything in the south end of quarry that we did not have the opportunity to see during our first three dives of the day, we found during our night dive.

The rocking horse ROCKING HORSE, the memorial stone, the face and spring Spring, Face And Fish , a birdbath, the candelabrum Candelabrum, flamingo, the computer computer, a highchair,  and the racing tire were some of the things we saw.

The weather on Sunday was not as beautiful as Saturday; however, we still had some nice dives. All nine of the divers enjoyed their dives.  If you don't believe me, just ask Michelle Michelle, Patrick patrick, Brian Brian or Zak.

Eric and Paul made good use of their day by working on their map project for their divemaster class.  If you want to know where anything is at in the South end of the quarry just ask them and I am sure they would love to share their knowledge.

Turtle on Stone

A turtle also made his appearance Sunday morning.

Our dives on Sunday were followed by a wonderful lunch complements of Kathy.

Thanks very, very much.
